Goodyear Ultra Grip Max tyres OE on DAF truck

DAF has become the first truck manufacturer to approve Goodyear’s Ultra Grip Max winter truck tyres as factory-fit options. Operators ordering new DAF trucks built from week 41 onwards can now specify Goodyear Ultra Grip Max S steer tyres and Ultra Grip Max D drive tyres in sizes 315/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.

Goodyear Ultra Grip Max winter truck tyres“We are delighted that DAF is the first manufacturer approving our new truck winter tyre line which we launch this year.  This illustrates the outstanding winter performance our new Goodyear Ultra Grip Max truck winter line-up provide,” said Peter Platje, director OE Sales Truck Tyres Goodyear Dunlop EMEA. “Mobility is a key factor for commercial vehicles, particularly during winter. Now customers can have their new DAF trucks delivered with our best tyres for the worst possible winter conditions – this is true in particular for those from the Nordic region, Russia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland but also for all others.”

According to the company, the new Ultra Grip Max winter truck tyre range provides up to 40 per cent more grip when half worn and up to 15 per cent more mileage. The Ultra Grip Max S steer tyre and Ultra Grip Max D drive tyre are dedicated truck winter tyres and carry both the 3-Peak-Mountain-Snowflake (3PMSF) official winter tyre marking as well as the M+S symbol. Goodyear explains that the drive tyres still qualify for the 3PMSF marking when 50 per cent worn.

The Ultra Grip Max S and D has been available in replacement sizes 315/80R22.5 and 315/70R22.5 since the middle of 2015.
