Interstate launches three new winter tyres

Interstate Tire & Rubber Co. has expanded its winter tyre product offering with the addition of over 100 new sizes and the release of three new product lines. According to the company, the total winter tyre range offers now 12 different lines with over 310 unique sizes.

Hankook introduces SmartControl DW07 drive axle tyre

A new “snow specialist” has been added to the Hankook truck tyre portfolio. The SmartControl DW07 drive axle winter tyre has been released in three key sizes – 315/80 R22.5, 315/70 R22.5 and 295/80 R22.5 – and Hankook Tire is preparing to expand the range with additional sizes.

Nokian claims world first with AA-labelled winter SUV tyre

The introduction of the European tyre label in November 2012 resulted in murmurs from some tyre makers – most notably Nokian Tyres – about its unsuitability for appraising their winter ranges, and the Finnish manufacturer even went as far as introducing its own ‘winter grip label’ that aimed to place labelling criteria within a winter context.

Goodyear Dunlop opens winter test circuit in Finland

Goodyear Dunlop has opened a new winter tyre testing facility, the Arctic Centre, in Ivalo, Finland. Located 300 km north of the Arctic Circle, near the town of Ivalo in North Eastern Finland, the Arctic Centre is one of Europe’s leading winter tyre testing centres, and as of December 2014, will be exclusively used by Goodyear Dunlop.
