Nervous Audi

Nervous Audi

Owners of a 2007 Audi Cabriolet A4, S4 or RS4 may complain about a brief sudden engine stumble that lasts about one second while cruising at moderate vehicle speed.

Engine function may be otherwise normal with no other symptoms present. This symptom is extremely sporadic and does not generate any DTC or MIL illumination.

Note the location of the camshaft position sensor.
Note the location of the camshaft position sensor.

In all likelihood, electrical interference on the signal is generated by the camshaft position sensor. An improved camshaft position sensor is available to avoid this issue, under P/N 07K 907 601.

When replacing the camshaft position sensor, replace the O-ring only if the original O-ring is damaged. Torque the mounting bolt to 10 Nm (88.5 in.-lbs.).
