US tyre association opposes tyre registration legislation

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) us officially opposing apparent tyre registration language in the “Generating Renewal, Opportunity, and Work with Accelerated Mobility, Efficiency, and Rebuilding of Infrastructure and Communities throughout America Act” or “GROW AMERICA Act” that was released on 30 March 2015. At the crux of the issue is the way which the it opens the possibility that independent tyre dealer must register who buys which tyre and send this information to the government at no cost to the consumer.

SKF opens hybrid production channel in Indonesia

SKF has opened a hybrid production channel in its manufacturing facility in Jakarta, Indonesia. This production channel has been designed to be able to produce two different types of product families: single-row deep groove ball bearings and double-row angular contact ball bearings, i.e. hub bearing units.

Rotiiva HT – Nokian’s new tyre for SUVs and light trucks

This spring, Nokian Tyres is rolling out an all-season tyre for SUVs and light trucks. Called the Rotiiva HT, the new range will be offered in 22 sizes for 16 to 22-inch rim diameters, and Nokian says that while the tyre is especially designed for demanding use on heavy SUV-type 4WD vehicles and pickups, the Rotiiva HT portfolio will also include light truck sizes designed for hard use.
