ContiTech Vibration Control – the strut mount specialist based in Hanover in Germany – has developed a strut mount in which fiberglass-reinforced BASF Ultramid polyamide is also used as the primary structural component. It is the first strut mount made of this material, which is used both at the front and rear axle in the chassis environment of passenger cars.

AirREX has released an adjustable air suspension kit for all variants of the Nissan GT-R. The company says the kit offers “a near ‘plug and play’ fitment”. The Liberty Walk project supplier said its air suspension offers super-low stance at shows, with a variety of ride heights for road use.

DENSO has further developed its unique Super Ignition Plug (SIP) technology which features the world’s smallest diameter centre electrode (0.4mm) and combines it with a needle-like, 0.7mm platinum ground electrode. The company says this allows the Iridium TT plug to improve performance, efficiency and durability, with a lifetime of up to 120,000km, more than three times that of standard nickel plugs.

Emissions testing fraud should be investigated thoroughly and those responsible should face appropriate sanctions, said MEPs in a resolution passed on Tuesday 27 October. They said that the EU emissions testing system should be strengthened to ensure that EU emission limits are respected and that vehicles exceeding these limits are discovered quickly. They also recommended considering whether to establish an EU-level surveillance authority.
