SMP unveils parts app for mobile devices

Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP) has introduced a parts app for mobile devices. The SMP Parts App allows input by part number and year, make, model and engine.

The new app for Android and Apple devices also has a VIN scanner and option to save every search for future reference.

The company says the most unique component of the new app is a UPC scan utility. Counterpersons and technicians scan the UPC code on any SMP brand box to receive all content associated with that part number, such as multiple images, installation instructions, videos, part specs, related parts and more.

“The new SMP Parts App features a robust and flexible catalog lookup, and one of the most exciting features is the ability to search all SMP brands at once. We believe this will be a very useful tool for our customers,” says Phil Hutchens, vice president marketing.

The app is available for download at the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
