Supreme FiberPanel HC Walls Use Honeycomb Structure
A lightweight honeycomb sidewall design on straight truck bodies allows increased payload and promises long life and low maintenance, Supreme Industries says.
FiberPanel HC is a fiberglass-reinforced, gelcoated honeycomb product based on designs used in aerospace and automotive applications that require a high strength-to-weight ratio, says Mark Weber, Supreme Industries’ CEO.
A 14-foot-long body with FiberPanel HC side walls weighs 288 pounds less than a comparable size truck built with a composite roll-up rear door and standard fiberglass-reinforced plywood walls.
The polypropylene core does not absorb moisture, keeping the sidewalls safe from water damage and allowing for an extended life, Weber says. Its rivet-less external is completely smooth, so the truck owner’s graphics stand out.
“Our engineers with the Tower Structural Laminating division designed FiberPanel HC to be light, strong, and tough,” Weber says. “It was built to increase capacity, lowering your overall operating costs, and giving you everything you need in a truck body side wall that’s built to last.”
FiberPanel HC is available on Supreme’s Van Body and Iner-City bodies.
