Lanxess launches new rubbers for easy tire processing

Synthetic rubber producer Lanxess A.G. has debuted two neodymium polybutadiene (NdPBR) rubber grades designed to facilitate the production of fuel-efficient tires, among other products.

The company claims Buna Nd 22 EZ and Buna Nd 24 EZ offer the following advantages:

• High molar mass through narrow polydispersity;

• Low Mooney viscosity;

• Long chain branching to accelerate incorporation of fillers into the rubber matrix; and

• Chemical modification of chains to enhance rubber/filler interaction.

LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 9.1 billion in 2012 and roughly 17,500 employees in 31 countries. The company is currently represented at 52 production sites worldwide.
