New addition to VDO aftermarket TPMS portfolio

New addition to VDO aftermarket TPMS portfolio

The range of multi-brand VDO tyre pressure monitoring sensors has been expanded with the introduction of a fifth REDI-Sensor; this newest product is suited to installation in new Hyundai, Ford, BMW and Mercedes-Benz models.

In addition to this new model coverage, the sensor is also designed to cover future BMW and Mercedes-Benz model changes. “This means that in the years to come, our range of five REDI-Sensors will cover up to 85 per cent of the TPMS-equipped vehicles on the market,” comments Christoph Zinke, product manager TPMS within Continental’s Aftermarket business.

In a first for the aftermarket, the VDO REDI-Sensors are supplied pre-programmed. A workshop can approach installation in the same way as when installing an original sensor, making vehicle-specific programming superfluous; installation is as simple as affixing the VDO REDI-Sensor to the inside of the tyre’s running surface. The sensor comes in its ready-to-glue rubber container and the whole package weighs barely 12 grams. Spare containers are also available from VDO.
