Blue Print can manage your engine component needs

Optimised engine operation is essential to maximise engine power and fuel efficiency. High quality parts ensure high performance and reliability. Blue Print products are manufactured to OE matching quality and supported by a three year unlimited mileage warranty.

Blue Print supplies over 1,000 engine components in a range including timing chains and belts, valves, seals and cylinder heads.

A closer look at Blue Print’s Engine components range:

Timing Chain: Timing chains precisely control the opening and closing of the engine valves. It requires lubrication from the engine oil to operate efficiently, and connects the camshaft to the crankshaft. Timing chains have a relatively long service life and are wear-resistant compared to other components. It is vital that the timing chain is replaced at intervals recommended by the manufacturer, as failure can cause severe damage to the engine. Blue Print supplies timing chains as part of a kit, including sprockets and chain tensioners.

Timing Belt: Timing belts are an alternative drive to the timing chain and are the most popular drive in modern vehicle engines, connecting the camshaft to the crankshaft. They are quiet, smooth, lightweight and don’t need lubrication. However, the belt is prone to snapping which causes engine damage so it is vital that high quality parts are used. Blue Print supplies over 200 timing belts with over 6,000 applications for a variety of vehicle makes and models.

Camshaft: Driven by the crankshaft, the camshaft ensures valve operation is in time with the piston. Drive is transmitted from the crankshaft to the camshaft via a timing chain or belt. Blue Print supplies camshafts with over 200 application for a variety of vehicle makes and models.

Cylinder head: The cylinder head sits on top of the cylinder block. They are sealed together with a cylinder head gasket. The cylinder head contains the valves, spark plugs or fuel injectors depending on the type of vehicle.

Valves: Valves are operated by the camshaft and control the flow of gas, allowing the air and fuel mixture to swap with the burnt gases via inlet and outlet ports. Valves have to deal with high temperatures and high levels of strain, so it is important to use the highest quality replacement parts to avoid premature wear.

Oil seals and gaskets: Oil seals and gaskets seal against oil, air and water. Gaskets seal the join between two components’ faces and have to deal with very high temperatures. Blue Print stock over 300 head gasket sets to seal the cylinder head and block, with over 2,000 applications.

Blue Print supplies only OE matching quality components, ensuring optimum performance and long service life.
