WeNow relies on IFPEN for its driving assistance App
IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) scientists algorithms will be used at the heart of an innovative solution for the climate.
The connected module and mobile application from WeNow will:
-
allow to reduce fuel consumption
-
compensate in real time environmental impact of the car.
Limiting the impact on the climate implies to use less its car. This is unfortunately not always possible. The start-up WeNow has designed a concrete solution to empower all drivers to act. With WeNow, everyone is aware of its impact on the climate and gets tips for reducing it in real time.
In order to offer to its users a meaningful analysis of their behavior and allow them to reduce their consumption without lowering their average speed, WeNow chose to rely on the IFPEN scientific expertise. Its researchers have indeed developed algorithms to accurately assess both your consumption and your behavior. From the information gathered by the case, thanks to IFPEN algorithms, the application calculates the ideal driving mode to be adopted. This is compared to the actual behavior of the driver. At the end of the journey, WeNow then displays the score of the driver, its energy performance, and gives him advices to improve his driving. With the IFPEN measures, the WeNow application indicates fuel savings when the effectiveness per kilometer improves.
“With the IFPEN algorithms, we can offer a unique service on the market at an affordable cost. Each can act effectively for the climate, says Fabien Carimalo, WeNow General Co-Director. Our application is the only one to neutralize the CO2 emitted in real time, and to measure emissions and reductions of these, reliably and transparently.
Our requirement level is well above market standards. At a time when doubt sets out from all the information relating to emissions, it was essential to build a relationship of trust with our individual customers, company or community. Our long term partnership with IFPEN positions us today as a reliable third party solution provider to help the transport industry to measure and reduce CO2 emissions.”
“We are delighted to support this start-up and benefit from our know-how in the field of eco-driving. Actor of the sustainable mobility, we bring our R&I expertise to the ecosystem of connected vehicles to optimize energy consumption, reduce emissions and transport costs of the future.” said Philippe Moulin, Project Manager for Services for connected vehicles.
The application will be on sales from late November 2015.
It is already possible to pre-order its module on www.wenow.com
