TPMS products from VDO make switching to summer tires easy
VDO is helping workshops to implement the new EU requirement for installation of tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) in newly registered vehicles. It offers a wide range of TPMS devices, including the VDO REDI-Sensor, which fits in many different vehicles, plus original sensors. It also provides special tools and diagnostic devices. In addition, VDO offers training at its in-house TrainingCenter and has set up a hotline for TPMS questions.
New service hotline for questions about VDO’s TPMS products
The Europe-wide introduction of tire pressure monitoring systems in new passenger cars has created new questions for workshops. VDO has therefore augmented its workshop service with a new hotline. Experts are available at 01805-221242 to answer questions about sensors, diagnostic products, special tools or work steps where TPMS and other VDO aftermarket products are involved. The hotline is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. and costs €0.14 per minute from landlines in Germany and maximum €0.42 from mobile network in Germany.
Avoiding returns by using VDO service kits and the right tools
Workshops can avoid returns from TPMS service by following the manufacturer’s recommendations for valve sensors and replacing the wear parts in the valve each time a tire is changed. These parts, which are the sealing ring, seal, union nut, valve insert and valve cap, are contained in the VDO service kits. The new TPMS tool set with its selection of torque wrenches makes it easy to install the valves correctly.
VDO multiplication sensor in the REDI Starter Kit
VDO’s multiplication REDI-Sensor offers a number of advantages in installation. The factory-programmed sensor is simply glued to the inside of the running surface of the tire with a special adhesive. Programming, which is required by other TPMS aftermarket solutions, is not necessary. One just teaches the sensors in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The VDO REDI Starter Kit is another service for workshops. It contains the most important products needed to install VDO REDI-Sensors, including a push-on tool, a special adhesive, work gloves and four each of all three versions of the VDO REDI-Sensor. As part of the Starter Kit these components also cost less than when ordered separately.
