Prevent emission test failures
Blocked diesel particulate filters or partially bunged up units are a frequent cause of VOSA emissions test failures.
Vehicle manufacturers are increasingly specifying that ACEA ‘C’ category engine oils are used in their diesel models to protect DPF efficiency.
These ‘Low SAPS’ or ‘Reduced SAPS’ oils have very low levels of sulphated ash, phosphorous and sulphur which can all contribute to blocking this filter so, where specified by the VM – often as a warranty-critical requirement – their use should be strictly adhered to. Full application data is available through a VRN look-up facility on www.CommaOil.com.
