VDO Autodiagnos VCI the multifunctional diagnostic solution
By taking over the diagnostics specialist Omitec Group Limited and its interests one year ago, Continental further enhanced its expertise in the area of diagnostic and service devices for workshops.
Following successful integration, the name Autodiagnos now will be introduced as product name for the high-end diagnostic solutions. For ContiSys VCI customers there is no change; only new devices will be offered from now on under the VDO Autodiagnos VCI label.
The new update applies of course to all products; newly acquired VDO Autodiagnos VCI systems will be delivered inclusive of the latest updates. In addition to extending vehicle coverage, the new software update includes a so-called guided troubleshooting function for engine control units and ABSESP systems. This means that the VCI user is guided to the source of the fault with a few clicks, and solutions or options for action are immediately displayed.
As an added service, VCI customers will regularly receive technical bulletins and recall information as well as access to the online platform ContiSys Data Web, where technical information such as circuit diagrams, troubleshooting instructions as well as tips and tricks for a large number of vehicles also can be downloaded.
These additional modules and all subsequent software updates are available to workshops free of charge in the first year after they buy a VDO Autodiagnos VCI. After that, the license for the diagnostic software and the guided troubleshooting function can be extended for a further year using the software update service Update Plus.
