Lexus shaft bearing spacers

Some 2007-2011 4WD Lexus GS350 vehicles may exhibit a whine noise around 60 mph on deceleration or when cruising. Production changes have been made to eliminate the noise. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

Confirm if there is a whine noise around 60 mph on deceleration or when cruising. If so, proceed to Step 2. If not, this bulletin does not apply.Remove the rear propeller shaft and confirm if there are washers present between the center support bearing mount and the vehicle body. If washers are present, this bulletin does not apply. Proceed with additional diagnostics. If no washers are present, install flat spacer washers to the bearing support. The 2.0 mm washers are available as P/N 90201-10106.

If the whine noise continues or there seems to be a driveline vibration after washer installation, refer to the specific vehicle’s repair manual in the drivetrain section.
