Further award for Nexen’s tread-replenishing experimental tyre

A concept from Nexen Tire that allows motorists to simply replace their tyre’s tread rather than the entire tyre has been acknowledged at this year’s Red Dot Design Awards. The Green Hive tyre, which possesses a “rechargeable tread,” has been awarded in the ‘Design Concept’ award category.

Nexen scores hat-trick of A’ Design awards

Nexen Tire has received three A’ Design awards for its latest tyres. Nexen’s All Road Transform concept tyre and Winguard Snow’G WH2 received gold awards, in addition to the N’Fera RU1 being granted a silver award. The company’s three products competed in the vehicle, mobility and transportation design categories.

Tyres & football: Goodyear becomes Bayern Munich platinum partner

Top-level football has become a sponsorship favourite for tyre makers, with Nexen’s partnership with Manchester City and Yokohama’s sponsorship of the Chelsea home shirt just two of the agreements announced in the second half of 2015, But the Goodyear name has been absent from such dealings for quite a while.

Nexen breaks ground on Zatec, Czech Republic plant

On 1 October 2015 Nexen Tire broke ground on the site of its new plant in Zatec, Czech Republic. The company has committed to investing more than 829 million euros in building the new plant on 650,000 square metres of land in Zatec.

Nexen wins three international design awards
