Honeywell Friction Materials, a business unit of Honeywell International Inc., grew its aftermarket line by more than 125 new model numbers – covering more than 44 million vehicles – in the second quarter of this year. These new parts will enable technicians to offer premium brake service on a wide range of new and late-model vehicles from both foreign and domestic automotive manufacturers, the company says.

Market opportunities for electric vehicles will be enhanced if they become more powerful, more reliable, and less expensive. "EMiLE", the research project headed by ZF and supported with around EUR 10 million by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is examining how this could work. The aim is to integrate an electric vehicle's power electronics directly into the driving machine. Efficiency and power-to-weight ratio increase as a consequence, faults are easier to identify, and volume production can be realized at significantly lower cost.

The MANN-FILTER "HU 1291 z" for commercial vehicles significantly facilitates disassembly in the workshop and saves installation space due to its enhanced filter medium. The company has been granted patents in several countries for the filter element, which features a bayonet connection and double-concentric sealing.
