Wabco will exhibit at IAA in Germany

Wabco Holdings Inc. , a global supplier of technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles, announced that at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 in Hanover, Germany, it will showcase the company’s continued technology leadership in vehicle safety and efficiency through its advanced systems, products and services, including new fleet management solutions.

IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014, one of the industry’s most global and comprehensive trade shows, will be held in Hanover Sept. 23-Oct. 2, 2014.

“Given that IAA is a global industry event and Wabco is a leading supplier to every major manufacturer of trucks, buses and trailers in every region of the world, we expect to meet with a significant representation of customers from across the globe,” said Jacques Esculier, Wabco chairman and chief executive officer.

“At IAA 2014, we will demonstrate our unique support for the diverse requirements of original equipment manufacturers in pursuit of their own global, domestic and export opportunities, particularly as Wabco’s differentiation is rooted in our ability to deliver competitive, value-based solutions in mature and emerging markets alike.”

Wabco will launch its industry-first modular braking system platform (mBSP), the company’s latest braking architecture. It now enables customers worldwide to interchangeably equip their diverse global truck and bus platforms with anti-lock braking (ABS)  or electronic braking (EBS)  systems based on regional market or regulatory requirements.

Wabco says its next-generation mBSP features the industry’s highest standardization across ABS and EBS components and systems software.

Wabco will introduce its driver assistance technology that foresees the topography of the road ahead. Using GPS data and proprietary algorithms, Wabco’s new and advanced predictive cruise control system automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed, optimizing cruise control and offering significant fuel-saving potential.

Wabco will exhibit its industry award-winning OptiDrive  automated manual transmission (AMT) technology that increases fuel economy up to 5 percent through optimized gear shifting. Wabco’s OptiDrive, a breakthrough in AMT technology, continues to be rapidly adopted globally among major manufacturers of transmissions, trucks and buses, particularly in emerging markets. OptiDrive increases vehicle efficiency while also improving driver effectiveness and vehicle safety as it frees drivers from frequent clutch and gear-shift actuation.

Wabco will also showcase its safety technology portfolio that helps to save lives in accidents involving commercial vehicles. It features multiple “industry firsts” in collision mitigation, advanced emergency braking and high-tech driver assistance systems, among other major innovations.
