DENSO expands starter/alternator coverage
DENSO Products and Services Americas Inc. reports 238 new part numbers have been added to its latest starter and alternator catalog (SA-CAT-0314), expanding coverage to a total of more than 201.6 million units in operation (UIO) for alternators and 200.5 million UIO for starters.
DENSO says it now has a starter and alternator for more than 200 million vehicles currently on the road, which equals about 80% coverage, with more to come in the near future.
“With 1,521 parts numbers, DENSO covers a wide portion of the automotive market,” notes Fran Labun, vice president, sales group. “The new starter and alternator part numbers increase our coverage of late-model Japanese and Korean vehicles, representing more than 86 million UIO.”
“The wide assortment of conveniences and infotainment equipment in modern vehicles places increased demands on electrical components,” Labun says. “Our expanded coverage of cars, light trucks and vans gives DENSO customers a single source to cover their starter and alternator needs.”
