Michelin expands ONCall roadside service to cover more than tires

Michelin announced today a new breakdown service that covers more than just tires.

Michelin ONCall

ONCall 2.0 is an expansion of the company’s previous roadside service program. Customers can now call for help if they’ve suffered mechanical breakdowns. Also new is a FixPix feature, which allows service providers to photograph tire failures so that fleets can see the damage that was incurred.

“The main goal here is to get the truck back up and running with service fleets can trust,” said Vic Koelsch, chief operating officer, Michelin Americas Truck Tires Division. He added ONCall 2.0 will turn “big emergencies into one small inconvenience.”

Some of the other issues ONCall 2.0 can help with include: lockouts, fuel delivery, lights, pull or jump starts and brake and suspension repairs. The service will event fetch abandoned vehicles and store them in a secured area. It also offers centralized billing. Every breakdown will be tracked in real-time using the new LiveTrack event monitoring feature.

Michelin is shooting for a two-hour roll time with the new service.

“Michelin’s emergency road service is now more than tires. Michelin ONCall 2.0 brings fleets peace of mind by providing consistent service, event transparency, and accountability for all breakdowns” said Koelsch. “Every maintenance manager would like to be onsite at every breakdown event to manage it properly. ONCall 2.0’s innovative tracking and reporting features allow the service manager to be there virtually and optimize their vehicle uptime.”

The expanded program will be rolled out Jan. 1 in the US, and Canada will get it at a later date.
