Quadraxer 2 – Kleber refreshes all-season tyre portfolio

According to Michelin, some 53 million intermediate-range tyres are sold in Europe every year, and an increasing number of these are all-season tyres.

The tyre maker’s own figures puts European all-season tyre sales (for all product tiers) at 10 million units in 2014, more than twice the number sold two years earlier. Michelin has developed a product that targets the all-season market within the intermediate segment, and is launching it this month. The new Kleber Quadraxer 2 is now available as a replacement market fitment.

The Quadraxer 2 is available in a further nine sizes than the previous-generation tyre, with dimensions breaking though the 17-inch ceiling. Michelin says the Kleber product has been granted a ‘B’ EU label rating for wet grip, and was shown by internal tests to have a 3.5 metre shorter braking distance in the dry than the predecessor tyre (tested in January 2016 using size 205/55 R16 91H tyres). All Quadraxer 2 sizes are 3PMSF and M+S marked. In regards to product longevity, Michelin claims the Kleber Quadraxer 2 has approximately nine months longer life compared to its direct competitor, the Hankook Kinergy 4S.

Customers in a number of European markets – Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland – are able to draw on the Kleber ‘Trust Guarantee’, which offers them their money back if not satisfied with their Quadraxer 2 tyres within 30 days of purchasing.
