DON launches new brake pads to improve efficiency for commercial vehicles

DON has launched a new range of longer-lasting brake pads that will improve the efficiency of commercial vehicles.

Using the most advanced friction technology available, the new DON 8750 range aims to last longer between service intervals whilst still offering the same high quality performance that the brand is renowned for.

Also included in the DON 8750 range is a new lightweight backing plate for Wabco caliper applications, which is structurally as effective as its predecessor but can save up to 7.5kg on a six-axle truck. This offers commercial vehicles better fuel consumption, is kinder on the brake discs and saves valuable weight. This is further complemented by a unique double slot on the pads which dissipates heat and increases stability.

Richard Barton, UK CV Product Manager at DON, said: “We are constantly developing and refining our products to ensure they meet the requirements and deliver added value to our commercial vehicle customers. One problem faced is the wear of brake pads and the downtime caused when their vehicles are having maintenance. The new DON 8750 will last longer whilst still offering a high performing product that never comprises on safety.”
