NGK Spark Plug Europe adds 41 types to its range of Lambda sensors

NGK Spark Plug, the world’s leading manufacturer of spark plugs, glow plugs and Lambda sensors has significantly expanded its Lambda sensor range for the Aftermarket. 41 newly introduced Lambda sensors are now available to independent workshops. The majority of these sensors are used by car manufacturers as Original Equipment parts, as NTK is the leading supplier of Lambda sensors for series production.

Under the NTK brand, NGK Spark Plug is one of the leading development partners and Original Equipment suppliers to vehicle manufacturers. The company also makes most recent OE know-how available to the Aftermarket, a fact also true for the Lambda sensor range for independent workshops, which the sensor specialist just increased by the addition of 41 new sensors. 39 of the NTK Lambda sensors available to the Aftermarket for the first time are binary sensors, also known as zirconium dioxide sensors. The two remaining sensors are wideband Lambda sensors. 27 of these new types are directly from NTK’s OE business.

Following this range extension, the entire Aftermarket Lambda sensor range now consists of 920 sensors. The 41 new sensors alone add 983 vehicle applications to the catalogue, which now lists a total of 14,500 applications.

The extension aims at more than 14.7 million passenger cars in Europe and for over 9.3 million vehicles, NGK now offers 100% coverage for diagnostic and regulating sensors. In contrast, the majority of competitors are only covering one of the two mounting positions on those cars. Besides closing range gaps, NGK now also supplies a diagnostic or regulating sensor for about 5.4 million additional cars.

“With this range extension we have updated the Lambda sensor assortment and closed gaps, to offer workshops both the proven quality of a leading supplier of the car manufacturers and one of the highest market coverages available to the market,” comments David Loy, Marketing Director Aftermarket Europe.

All newly introduced Lambda sensors have already been listed in TecDoc.
