The SKF Vehicle Aftermarket is pleased to announce the addition of timing chain kits (VKML) in its engine range for the most popular European and Asian car models in order to fulfill market demand and help customers complete their product offer.
With an ever growing car parc equipped with modern chain technology the demand for these types of component repair kits is increasing. SKF Vehicle Aftermarket has extended its engine offer with timing chain kits for the core European and Asian car models. With this range extension SKF now provides one of the market’s most consistent offer for timing chain systems in terms of range and content. The kits include all necessary guides, sprockets as well as tensioners and gaskets where needed to help garage technicians work efficiently and effectively while carrying out repairs on the timing system.
Engine down-sizing and the use of oil for lubrication to extend the car’s maintenance period affect the development of the market for cars equipped with chain technology. Projections show a 30-40% increase for the chain fitted car parc by 2020 in many regions around the world.
While normally the chain system is supposed to last for the car’s lifetime, oil contamination or previous low quality maintenance can cause early system failure which makes a repair necessary to avoid engine damage.
“We have developed the specific timing chain kits to support our distributors as well as our garage technicians in their daily work. We want to help them take advantage of this business area which in today’s times is still often overlooked as an aftermarket garage repair”, says Maurice Foot, Global Product Manager Engine and Chassis for the SKF Vehicle Aftermarket.
The assortment will be extended further throughout 2016 to include additional timing chain kits, related tooling, necessary sealants, and technical support information to complete the offer.
The new timing chain kit offer complements and builds on the existing SKF Vehicle Aftermarket engine offer, which currently includes tools, complete kits as well as loose parts for the timing and auxiliary system.
