Yuasa gets Smart with advanced battery lookup tool

Yuasa are offering garages a free USB Smart Button which provides ultra-fast access to their Online Battery Lookup resource. The tool can save valuable workshop time and money by allowing technicians to find the right battery and detailed fitting information quickly and easily.

Battery replacement is becoming increasingly more complex and often the location of the battery and OBD port, Battery Management System (BMS) reset and level of trim removal required can catch garages out, with some vehicles requiring up to 90 minutes work.  Failure to use the correct replacement battery, especially on new start-stop vehicles, can also cause serious problems.

Yuasa’s super-fast USB Smart Button and Online Battery Lookup system is already used by over 75,000 mechanics. One push of the USB Smart Button and the entire system opens automatically on any device. From here, users can search for the right battery for a whole range of applications by registration number or VIN/Chassis no. or by make/model.

Information is then provided for each battery application including;

  • OBD location.

  • Estimated fitting time, fitting instructions, diagrams and dynamic technical data sheet downloads.

  • Cross reference search for all DIN, JIS and ETN numbers plus other battery brands & OE references.

  • Superior browse battery functionality allowing users to search the entire range by key criteria such as spec, dimensions etc.

The system is driven by the Yuasa’s European database which is updated daily and is available in multiple languages.

James Douglas, Marketing Executive at Yuasa Battery Sales commented, “On older vehicles, the battery tends to be under the bonnet, and it’s a quick job to change it. With newer vehicles, especially those featuring start/stop technology, you need to replace the battery with the correct type, and also reprogram the Battery Management System (BMS). Furthermore, the battery is not always located under the bonnet,  it could be under the seat or you might have to remove various levels of trim to get to it.” He added, “Our USB Smart Button and Online Battery lookup is the most advanced battery lookup tool available. It quickly identifies the correct replacement battery, provides essential technical data, battery fitting information and an estimated fitting time. This helps garages and workshops save valuable time and money.”

Built using smart logic, the system will ask users to confirm trim levels or features where multiple versions of a specific vehicle may exist, this guarantees the correct battery is identified. Fitment feedback means users can report any fitment inaccuracies quickly and easily. All feedback will be investigated and the system can be updated within 24 hours if required.

Yuasa’s USB Smart Button gives garages and workshops the ultimate in convenience and quick access to this system. To request yours free visit www.yuasa.co.uk/smartbutton
