Wheel-Check Indicates When Wheel Nuts Are Loose

Wheel-Check Indicates When Wheel Nuts Are Loose

Wheel-Check is a loose nut indicator designed to identify a loose wheel nut with a quick visual inspection of the wheel.

The Wheel-Check is a small indicator that is placed on an individual nut with an arrow-like shape. When wheel nuts are torqued to proper specs, Wheel-Checks are placed on the nuts in a uniformed pattern. Over time, as a wheel nut loosens, the Wheel-Check will come out of sequence with the other Wheel- Checks indicating that the nut has come loose.

When a visual inspection of the wheel is performed, the Wheel-Check will quickly identify which wheel nuts need to be tightened. Wheel-Checks are also heat sensitive. If there is a binding brake or seized bearing the heat will transfer through the stud and nut.

If the temperature exceeds 248 degrees Fahrenheit, the Wheel-Check will start to blister and distort. This will alert a driver to assess and fix any problems with the wheel.
