Exhaust Gas Recirculation system from Valeo

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system reduces the nitrogen dioxide from emissions by recirculating part of the exhaust gas back into the cylinders.

An efficient EGR system reduces emissions output by as much as 50% but one of the most common causes of system failure is the EGR valve. If the valve is not operating correctly, the exhaust gas cannot be controlled and forms harmful NOx gases and compromises performance and economy, potentially reducing engine life. EGR valves should be checked around 100,000 miles. Six new EGR modules join Valeo’s air management system range which comply fully with Euro 5 emission regulations.

The OE range of EGR valves have an integrated compact cooler. The modules cover five vehicle manufacturers, resulting in 16 applications including Citroen C4 & C5, Nissan Qashqai and Peugeot 3008 & 5008.
