MEYLE has added a joint play tester to its range of products which allows steering and suspension parts to be checked for wear quickly.
A YouTube video featuring two technicians describes the use and benefits of the tool and is part of the recently launched garage series ‘The MEYLE Mechanics’, with two repair experts demonstrating removal and installation procedures for different parts as well as technical tips. The tool allows you to check for wear on control-arm mounts, ball joints, tie rod end assemblies and suspension strut bearings on the front and rear axles. No lifting platform is needed. It can also be used as a wheel gripper to remove tight wheels from cars, SUVs and vans, preventing damage to the rim.
