Exclusive interview with Marek Buras, the CEO of Magneti Marelli Aftermarket Sp. z o.o. The interview beginning is in the first part.

 

Info-Parts: What are the company’s prospects in the CIS markets in the optics segment? Besides the optics, whether the company actively develops other areas now?

Magneti Marelli: Magneti Marelli is quite a strong market player. All our plants produce very high quality products. As a result many car manufacturers, such as Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Citroen, Renault, Peugeot, Volkswagen and others have chosen Magneti Marelli as one of the key lighting suppliers to the OE.

Now Magneti Marelli Aftermarket offers at the aftermarket more than 3,000 lighting products and this is not the limit. We constantly replenish our product range by lighting not only for cars, but also for trucks.

Magneti Marelli Aftermarket actively develops all product groups: body, mechanical, operational, electrical and electronic. We strive to pay particular attention to the development of direction regarding garage and diagnostic equipment, since we assess the CIS market as very promising.

Info-Parts: What are the features of shock absorbers’ market? Are there any differences in the Aftermarket of CIS and Europe?

Magneti Marelli: The shock absorbers’ market is characterized by large competition of manufacturers, both worldwide famous and little known. Unfortunately, at the CIS market every day there are more and more counterfeit products and very low quality parts, which cannot guarantee the safety during driving. Magneti Marelli is not afraid of competition, as far as the competition for us is like incitement for continuous product improvement, new technological developments. Despite the fact that the CIS market is characterized by unpredictability and bureaucracy, for us this market is No.1. I can confidently say that Magneti Marelli Aftermarket will actively continue to capture this market.

Info-Parts: What strengths do you plan to use to compete with other companies in the shock absorbers’ direction?

Magneti Marelli: First of all, the main focus will be on providing the customer with the high quality products. We also will expand our product range, taking into account the features of the car fleet of the given country. Certainly, Magneti Marelli Aftermarket will actively perform various activities, actions, implement loyalty programs which will allow us to be closer to consumer and to increase our sales.

Info-Parts: What is the present situation at the diagnostic equipment market in CIS? What is the positioning of MAGNETI MARELLI at this market in the next 5 years?

Magneti Marelli at Automechanika Frankfurt 2014Magneti Marelli: Now Magneti Marelli Aftermarket in garage and diagnostic equipment segment in CIS countries is not so strong as we wish to be. However we do not lose heart, but rather do a lot of work on our product range, supplementing it with the products necessary and interesting to the garages, improve quality, move forward. In the next few years I would really like to see Magneti Marelli Aftermarket among the top five suppliers of diagnostic equipment in the CIS.

Info-Parts: What MAGNETI MARELLI does to improve diagnosticians’ level?

Magneti Marelli: At the moment the diagnosticians’ professional level in the CIS countries is leaving much to be desired. This may partially be explained by the fact that the market has very small quantity of garages of really European level, which would be equipped with modern facilities and would be interested in the professional growth of their employees.

In terms of training, technical seminars our company “keeps up” with technological advance. During the year the technicians implement numerous presentations, seminars and workshops, make available online training videos and relevant technical information.

Info-Parts: What about the direction of the equipment for air conditioning systems servicing?

Magneti Marelli: Generally, in Europe the direction of Magneti Marelli equipment for air conditioning systems servicing is developing very successfully. Our sales develop rapidly, the customers are satisfied.

Presently Magneti Marelli Aftermarket offers at the market six different (by functions) units for air conditioning systems servicing. In addition, our offer includes various accessories and necessary components: filters, hoses, seals kits, service caps, electronic leak detectors, etc. We offer for sale oil, coolant, cleaning fluids etc.

Info-Parts: What is the position of MAGNETI MARELLI Aftermarket at the Eastern Europe market, what is the company's development strategy?

Magneti Marelli: The last three years at the Eastern Europe market were quite successful for Magneti Marelli Aftermarket. In the future we want actively move forward to develop and strengthen our positions. Undoubtedly, we will increase the articles number, there will be new product groups, we will improve the level of service to our customers.

Magneti Marelli Aftermarket will focus precisely to the final consumer. In this respect the company will open new authorized services under branded by Magneti Marelli Aftermarket Checkstar. Such services will be opened not only in large, but also in small cities. We will expand the geography of our company’s presence. We plan to deliver our products to Armenia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
